The saying goes that sailing is like standing under a cold shower tearing up bank notes. We prefer the high speed approach, on high performance boats or sailboards. At least that way when the bank notes are fluttering away and the water is slapping you in the face, it’s happening fast.
The idea is this: if you’re going to get wet and spend money doing it, then you either go big or go home. It seems to be working for us so far, based on some decent results in two world championships, a handful of provincial champs (29er class) as well as the local SuperX series.
Needless to say these results require some serious hours on the water – so work is something that happens when the wind isn’t playing nice.
